The Samsung NC10 has joined the ranks of 10-inch netbooks, including the Eee PC 1000H, MSI Wind, and Lenovo ideapad S10, and it beats them all. The $499 NC10 may have the same cookie-cutter specs as its competitors, including a 1.6-ghz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP, but its spacious, well-positioned keyboard and more than 6 hours of battery life make this system our favorite 10-inch netbook yet.

I think iPad using firmware similar iphone and can use all app on iTunes store but netbook can run windows so you can use windows to do everything you want and HD or Hard disk is more than iPad. iPad have HD just 16,32,64 GB only and if you want to watch CD/DVD movies or do some work in your CD/DVD you can use external drive to do it but iPad ,you need to iTunes or program to put your file to iPad so you need to consider by yourself :))

Hi Bradley, a netbook is very similar to laptop, and you can use it to surf internet, run programs like office applications play some games, watch movies etc. Its much cheaper and smaller than a laptop. But the downside is, you will not have a CD/DVD drive. So if you want to watch CD/DVD movies etc, you need an external drive. But for most basic applications, netbook is a good alternative. If you plan travels, and if your computation needs are not very high, then netbook is a good choice.

The six battery lasts a few hours which is very good. On Amazon there is a nine cell battery for this product which should last a lot longer.
